Product Description
STARGAZER S-72QA Astronomical Refractor Telescope
The STARGAZER Telescope S-72QA sets a contra-point to rich-field refractors whose focal lengths become shorter and shorter by tolerating increasing colour fringes. This telescope has deliberately a long focal length causing an image quality that is much better than with shorter systems of the same aperture. The reason is the reduced chromatic abberation.
The STARGAZER Telescope S-72QA 127mm aperture with reduced chromatic abberation allow lunar- and planetary observations on a high level. You will see definitively more details as with (for example) an 100mm ED refractor. The drawing of the lunar surface is very good, fine craters and rimae are shown with high contrast. The image quality can be further enhanced by using the Baader "Fringe Killer" that suppresses the remaining colour fringe
Deep Sky observations are also very good possible. The 127mm (5") objective gathers 12% more light as a 120mm objective. Despite of the long focal length, wide field viewing is no problem. The relatively low chromatic abberation is also an advantage for deep sky at medium and high magnifications: Double stars can be splitted better and fine structures in bright nebulae have more contrast.
